Just 500 Metres Away From Yogi Adityanath’s Residence, My Brother Was Shot: Dr Kafeel Khan

In a video, Khan expressed his anguish as the incident occurred just a few metres away from the chief minister's Gorakhpur residence.

Dr Kafeel Khan on Monday released a video on Twitter underlining the terrible conduct of UP police and the mental harassment that he had to endure after his younger brother was shot at thrice by unidentified assailants and hospitals delayed the treatment procedure in Gorakhpur.

Dr Khan’s brother, Kashif Jameel was shot at allegedly by some unidentified bike-borne miscreants on Sunday. In the video, Khan expressed his anguish as the incident occurred just a few metres away from the chief minister’s Gorakhpur residence.

“Firstly, I would like to thank all of you, as the bullets have been removed from my brother Kashif’s body, and the operation has been successful. He is currently in ICU. Three bullets were shot at him in order to kill him,” he said in the video.

“Who has fired, we do not know. But it was 500 metres from Gorakhnath Temple, where the UP chief minister was staying. This is the state of law and order,” Dr Khan added.

While the neurosurgeon explained the urgency of the situation, the police insisted on taking the patient to Sadar Hospital for medico-legal formalities. Then, Dr Khan and his brother were taken to BRD Hospital for a second medico-legal. “When we resisted, five jeeps of policemen came and forcefully escorted us to the medical college. The police wasted precious time from 10 pm to 2.30 am,” Dr Khan told ANI.

Many enraged individuals took to Twitter to express concerns over the sorry state of affairs.

Dr Khan is an accused in the BRD Medical College case involving the death of 63 children.
