Allahabad: Class X Student Thrashed By BJP Supporters For Showing Black Flags to Modi Over Rising Unemployment
Police said the victim, Ankit Pradhan Yadav, is being questioned and a case will be lodged against him.
A 15-year-old boy was reportedly beaten up by BJP supporters at Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Vijay Sankalp political rally on Parade Ground in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, on Thursday, May 9. The youth’s only crime was to register his protest at the rising unemployment in India and waving a black flag at PM Modi.
Sabrang India that heavy security measures were in place at the PM’s rally. Guards were paying special attention to not allow anyone to carry black flags into the rally grounds. Despite all the arrangement the youth managed to smuggle a black flag into the political meeting.
The report adds that Modi approached the stage at 6.44 pm and as he spoke for a few minutes, 15-year-old Ankit Pradhan Yadav climbed atop his chair and waved a black flag. Within a few seconds, PM’s supporters around him pulled him down to the ground, kicked and punched him.
Special protection group and police officers came to Ankit’s rescue. They dragged him out of the rally grounds, even though he kept shouting slogans.
He was reportedly angry at growing unemployment and said, “I came here just to protest, but the BJP beat me up.”
As per reports, Ankit is a resident of Sirsa village, under the jurisdiction of Meja police station, in Uttar Pradesh. His family says he is 15-years-old and studies in class X. His father is a farmer named Rajendra Prasad Yadav. His family is not affiliated to any political party.
The boy’s family members told Sabrang India that he had left his village home to go stay at his aunt’s place in the city. They got to know about the incident after the police informed them.
Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Atul Sharma told Sabrang that Ankit is being questioned. A police case will be lodged against him.
