No ‘Bharat Mata Ki Jai’ This Time? Anupam Kher Ignores Voter’s Question On BJP’s Promises (Watch)
This isn't Kher's first time evading questions during campaigning.
Bollywood actor Anupam Kher, the husband of Chandigarh’s Bharatiya Janata party candidate Kirron Kher, has little to say when questioned nowadays.
As per a video shared by journalist Prashant Kumar, during a recent door-to-door campaign, Anupam Kher had an embarrassing encounter. As can be seen in the video, when Kher enters a shop, the man behind the counter shows him the BJP’s 2014 manifesto. He asks, “Sir, ek chhoti si cheez poochna chahunga. Aap logon ne humse kuch waade kare thhe. Is mein se kya diya hai aap logon ne?” — Sir, I have a small question. You made us some promises. What have you delivered?
Kher, amid beats of dholaks and BJP slogans, greets the man and walks off.

This is, of course, not the first time Kher — or for that matter, a Bharatiya Janata Party member — has evaded pertinent questions. Last month, while campaigning for his wife Kiron Kher in Chandigarh, when a journalist asked him for his views on the allegation that Kirron Kher has been more active as an actor than as an MP, Anupam Kher said, “Bharat mata ki jai.”
More recently, during a public meeting, West Delhi constituency MP, Parmesh Verma of the BJP, when asked to list the work he has done in his constituency in the past five years, too, declared “Bharat mata ki jai,” and ended the session.
