Bhim Army Stage Protest Demanding Chandrashekhar Azad’s Release
Chandrashekhar Azad has been in jail since June 2017, after Yogi Adityanath government slapped charges against him under NSA.
Delhi: Bhim Army staged a protest in Delhi once again, demanding the release of founder Chandrashekhar Azad Ravan on August 19.
The protesters here, also demanded repealing of draconian law National Security Act (NSA).
Bhim Army and its supporters have staged numerous protests in the national capital this year, demanding their leader’s release.
Ravan has been in jail since June 2017, after Yogi Adityanath government slapped charges against him under NSA.
On May 9 last year, the Bhim Army called a mahapanchayat in Uttar Pradesh’s Saharanpur to protest atrocities against Dalits. The police denied them permission but hundreds of protesters turned up on the day of the event. This led to clashes between the protesters and the police, following which the police arrested Chandrashekhar Azad under the NSA.
