Uttar Pradesh: BJP Leader Arrested For Misbehaving With District Magistrate, Manhandling Tehsildar
Over 12 criminal cases are registered against BJP's Vinod Tiwari, DM Bhawani Singh Khangarot reportedly said.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vinod Tiwari was reportedly arrested on Monday, April 1 for misbehaving with Ballia District Magistrate Bhawani Singh Khangarot and manhandling Revenue Official Gulab Chand.
Speaking to ANI, Kangarot said, “Over 12 criminal cases are registered against Tiwari. There was a case of financial irregularity when he was the head of a village. We are investigating these cases.”
As per the District Magistrate, he called Tiwari to his residence to brief him about the Model Code of Conduct restrictions and discuss the pending cases against him. He added that the BJP leader started misbehaving when he was denied permission to sit on a chair. “He was not allowed to sit since he is an accused. He also tried to convince me that he was innocent,” Khangarot told reporters.
Further, Tiwari had also tried to manhandle Tehsildar Gulab Chand. “The police was informed and they arrested him. He also told me that he was in jail for two months and that I did not know what Balia leaders are,” the DM said.
