Bulk Of Farmers Not Getting MSP: Chidambaram

Former Finance Minister P Chidambaram on Monday took to Twitter to express his concern over the incompetent policies of Narendra Modi government resulting in farmers’ suicide, imbalanced economy and soaring unemployment rate.
“The bulk of the farmers don’t get the MSP. That problem has not been fixed. Now you know why many farmers are driven to commit suicide,” he said.
For the few crops that have an MSP, the MSP is not adequate and the annual increases have been niggardly. Every farmer knows that the promise of MSP = Cost + 50 per cent is a jumla.
