Rajnath Singh Continues With BJP Poll Meet Even As IAF Pilot Goes Missing In Action
Social media users have criticised Singh over his misplaced priorities considering the tense situation at the border.

Home Minister Rajnath Singh shunted off to attend a Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) election event in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh amid the military escalation between India and Pakistan. In a skirmish with the Pakistan Air Force, an Indian Air Force fighter jet was lost and a pilot has gone missing in action.
Singh’s travel to Bilaspur coincided with reports of Pakistan claiming that it has captured two IAF pilots, although the Indian authorities have not confirmed this yet.
Pakistan on February 27 used violated the Indian airspace in response to Indian air strikes in Balakot a day earlier. While the IAF shot down a Pakistani F-16 jet, as per the External Affairs Ministry, “In this engagement, we have unfortunately lost one MiG 21. The pilot is missing in action. Pakistan has claimed that he is in their custody. We are ascertaining the fact.”

Singh attending party meetings and preparing for the upcoming polls even as there is little clarity over the situation of the IAF pilot and amid the military escalation with Pakistan has drawn severe criticism.
Meanwhile, @rajnathsingh is campaigning & addressing a rally in Bilaspur, Chattisgarh .
Anyway, commentators, did turn being a 24*7 politician, sound like a virtue.— Thakursahab (@65thakursahab) February 27, 2019
Something sickening about the Bjp’s 24/7 campaign rallies. Does Rajnath Singh have nothing to do as home Minister? https://t.co/JeJXr0B9d4

Unbelievable shamelessness by BJP. Home Minister should be in the situation room monitoring internal security, not attending political functions. https://t.co/Dvrrf1jouv

Singh’s meeting also stands in sharp contrast with how the Congress party reacted to the ongoing military situation. The party, on Wednesday, postponed its working committee meeting slated in Ahmedabad on Thursday in view of the security situation prevailing on the border. “In view of the prevailing security situation, the Congress leadership has decided to postpone its meeting of the working committee slated to be held in Ahmedabad on Thursday,” Congress’ Chief spokesperson Randeep Surjewala said.
