Disgraceful: Amit Shah Says As Rahul Gandhi Unmarried, Sister Priyanka Gandhi Has Entered the Fray
The BJP resorting to personal attacks is nothing new.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah has resorted to personal attacks. Targeting the Gandhi family, Shah on February 12 said that in the Congress party, the prime minister’s seat is reserved “by birth”. He added if a worker from that party could ever think of occupying the top post.
Shah, however, reached new lows when he commented on Priyanka Gandhi, who was last month appointed AICC general secretary and in-charge of Uttar Pradesh East by Congress president Rahul Gandhi, ahead of the ensuing Lok Sabha polls. Shah said, as the “brother” (Rahul Gandhi) has not married, so now the “sister” (Priyanka Gandhi) has come (in the political arena).
Continuing with the usual BJP spiel of “merit”, Shah claimed that in the saffron party, an ordinary booth worker like him could rise to the rank of party president and a ‘chaiwala’ like Narendra Modi could become the prime minister.
