Goa Governor Acting As Protector Of BJP-led Government: Congress
She has become a mute spectator to the "undemocratic acts" and everything that is happening around, Naik said.
Panaji: The Congress in Goa Tuesday accused Governor Mridula Sinha of being a “mute spectator” to the “undemocratic acts” of the Manohar Parrikar government.
The Governor was acting like a “protector of the BJP- led government forgetting her constitutional responsibility”, Goa Congress spokesman Yatish Naik told reporters.
“The Governor has completely failed to discharge her constitutional duty. She has become a mute spectator to the “undemocratic acts” and everything that is happening around.
“She is acting as a protector of the BJP-led government and not as a protector of the state or its people,” Naik alleged.
The Congress took strong objection to the holding of a meeting of state-run Investment Promotion Board at the private residence of Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar near here Tuesday.
“Holding a meeting at the private residence (of the CM) is the most unconstitutional and undemocratic act,” Naik said.
Naik said the BJP is known for not abiding by the Constitution and this act shows its unconstitutional behaviour.
The Congress spokesman said the Governor has repeatedly ignored his party’s request to dismiss the Parrikar government.
