Haryana: ‘Modi Says Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, But How Will We Educate Our Daughters?’ Mother Of 19-Year-Old Alleged Gangrape Victim Asks
The girl was raped on her way to coaching classes and police refused to file FIR, the parents claimed.
A 19-year-old college student was allegedly gang-raped on Wednesday in Haryana, NDTV reported. The mother of the victim underlined that PM Narendra Modi says Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao, but they are not able to even register a complaint against the accused.
The student was on her way to a tuition centre in Rewari, when three men kidnapped her, dragged her to a field and raped her till she fell unconscious. Later, they dumped the girl at a bus stand.
Speaking to ANI, the girl’s mother said, “Modiji says ‘Beti Padho, Beti Bacho’, but how are we supposed to educate our daughters in such circumstances? I want justice for my daughter. Police has taken no action yet.”

According to the NDTV report, the parents have said that the police did not co-operate and refused to file a FIR (First Information Report). They claimed that they went to many police stations to register the complain after they were threatened by the accused.
