Begusarai: Man Shoots at Muslim Man After Asking His Name, Tells Him to ‘Go to Pakistan’

Unknown assailants in Begusarai on Sunday, May 26 reportedly fired at a Muslim man allegedly after asking his name.
The Hindu reported that an FIR has been lodged at the local Cheria-Bariarpur police station but no arrests have been made yet.
Mohd Qasim, the victim, narrated the incident to a reporter, a video of which is going viral on social media. Qasim is a resident of Kumbhi village, and has named the perpetrator as Rajiv Yadav, a resident of the same village.
“I was stopped by Rajiv Yadav and he asked me my name…when I told him ‘Mohd Qasim’, he fired at me and said you should go live in Pakistan,” Qasim says in the video.
He said none of the bystanders came to his aid because Yadav was drunk and was waving the pistol in his hand.
“The attacker Rajiv Yadav was drunk and when he started loading another cartridge in his pistol I pushed him and fled away,” Qasim adds.

“Yes, Mohd. Qasim has lodged an FIR in the incident at local Cheria-Bariarpur police station and has also named one person in the FIR…we are conducting raid to arrest him but he is at large,” Begusarai Superintendent of Police Awakash Kumar told The Hindu .
