When Spectators at an IPL Match Chanted ‘Chowkidar Chor Hai’ (Watch)
Kings XI Punjab beat Rajasthan Royals by 14 runs in their first match of the season, however, that is not the most interesting thing that happened.
A run-of-the-mill Indian Premier League (IPL) match held on Monday, March 25 got interesting when the audience, instead of shouting general cricket-related slogans, began chanting “Chowkidar Chor Hai“.
A video clipping of the moment has now gone viral on social media. Spectators can be heard saying “Chowkidar Chor Hai” during the IPL match between Kings XI Punjab and Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
You can watch the moment at around the 2:30:00 mark in this video, streamed by Hotstar,
Alternatively, you can also see the extracted short clip, which was shared by several individuals including Punjab Congress MLA Amarinder Singh Raja on Twitter.

The slogan, first coined by Congress president Rahul Gandhi in relation to the corruption allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rafale fighter-jet deal, has achieved wider appeal since.
Kings XI beat Royals by 14 runs in their first match of the season, however, the match will probably be remembered for a much different reason.
