Karnataka: BS Yeddyurappa Admitted to Meeting Sharan Gouda
In the audiotape released by Kumaraswamy, Yeddyurappa can allegedly be heard telling Amit Shah and Narendra Modi can “manage Supreme Court judges”.
Former Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa, who earlier rubbished the audio clips released by Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy as fake, admitted on Sunday, February 10, that he did meet Sharan Gouda, son of JD(S) MLA Naganagouda Kandkur. According to a report in The Hindu, Yeddyurappa, however, continued to accuse Kumaraswamy of lying.
Speaking to the Press, Yeddyurappa said, “Kumaraswamy is indulging in third-grade politics. It is true that I met Sharan Gouda. Kumaraswamy sent the MLA’s son to me to make me speak according to their requirements and then used whatever was useful to them. But they have covered up a few truths.”
Yeddyurappa said he was ready to face any inquiry on the audio clips.
In the audiotape released by Kumaraswamy on Friday, February 8, Yeddyurappa can allegedly be heard telling lawmakers that BJP chief Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi can “manage Supreme Court judges”. Yeddyurappa even offered MLAs bribes in an attempt to coerce them to topple the JDS-Congress government in Karnataka.
