Kerala Floods A Punishment For ‘Cow Slaughter’: BJP MLA
He warned that “whoever hurts Hindu community's feelings will be punished this way.”
While Kerala deals with the aftermath of the worst floods in a century, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA BP Yatnal has joined the long list of Hindu-right wingers to blame the floods on “cow slaughter”.
On Saturday, the Karnataka MLA said that “cow slaughter” is against the feelings of the Hindu community. He added, “One shouldn’t hurt other religions’ feelings. He added a “warning”, “See what happened to Kerala, they openly slaughtered cows in less than one year came to this stage. Whoever hurts Hindu community’s feelings will be punished this way.”

Kerala floods have claimed lives of 231 people. Even after lakhs of people have returned home, there are still 8.69 lakh people in 2287 relief camps across the state, officials said.
Last week, the Hindu Mahasabha president had also blamed the Kerala floods on “beef eaters” and had said that one shouldn’t help the flood victims because they are “beef eaters”.
