Madhya Pradesh: BJP Councillor Sells Water To Public Illegally; Asks People To Pay For Temple
Locals have complained raised this issue, but no action has been taken yet.
Madhya Pradesh is already reeling under a severe water crisis. But, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) councillor is least bothered. He has pocketed a public borewell, which was supposed to address the needs of the local people of Ayodhya Nagar.
Water is being sold to people illegally from the borewell, which belongs to the Bhopal Municipal Corporation, a Dainik Bhaskar report said. The BJP’s Ayodhya Mandal vice-president Bharat Singh Rajput withdrew at least Rs 50,000 monthly from selling water illegally.
He asked people, who withdrew water to pay money saying that it is required for the building of a temple, the report added. Locals have complained raised this issue, but no action has been taken yet, the report said.
Municipal corporation had made the borewell three years ago for the residents of the slums beside N Sector in Ayodhya Nagar. But, Rajput started the sale of water by capturing the borewell, it said.
