After 15 Years Of BJP Rule, Madhya Pradesh At The Bottom Of Social & Economic Rankings
The index is released annually since 2016.
According to Public Affairs Index (PAI) 2018, released by Public Affairs Centre (PAC), states ruled by Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) rank lowest.
The index awards rankings after examining the social and economic development in the state through a data-based framework.
As per the 2018 index, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand and Bihar have the worst social and economic inequalities in the country.
Whereas, Kerala has topped the list as the “best-governed state in the country”.
PAC said at an event in Bengaluru on Saturday, “Kerala has topped the Public Affairs Index (PAI) for 2018 as the best-governed state for the third consecutive year since 2016 among large states.”
Followed by Kerala are Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Karnataka and Gujarat, as the top five states with good governance, reported NDTV.
Himachal Pradesh topped the list among smaller states. Whereas, Nagaland, Manipur and Meghalaya were ranked the lowest among small states.
