#MeToo: Journalist Mayank Jain Resigns From Business Standard After Sexual Harassment Accusations
His resignation was accepted with immediate effect.
After many women accused journalist Mayank Jain of sexually assaulting them, he has resigned from Business Standard on Tuesday.
Jain was working with the business newspaper as a principal correspondent, his resignation was accepted with immediate effect, a mail sent by the HR to the company officials confirmed.
On Friday, health reporter Anoo Bhuyan, described Jain as a “sexual predator” and added that she was at the receiving end of his “unwelcome sexual predations”. Following her revelations, many women came forward to share how Jain had assaulted them too.
Jain’s resignation is the third in line after Prashant Jha and Gautam Adhikari stepped down from Hindustan Times and US-based think-tank Center for American Progress (CAP), respectively.
