Misogynist Argentine Radio Host Who Used to Call Feminists ‘Disgusting’ Now Has to Host Feminist Guest Every Week
Angel Etchecopar has been ordered by the judge to not interrupt or criticise his guests as well.
In what can only be called poetic justice, Angel Etchecopar — an Argentine radio host accused of misogynist diatribes and calling feminists “feminazis” and “disgusting people” — has been ordered to host a feminist guest every week for five months as part of a deal with prosecutors as punishment for gender discrimination.
Etchecopar, who had been charged with “disrespectful, insulting, denigrating and discriminatory” outbursts against women, expressed his desire to change and improve. Following that, the female judge presiding over his case agreed to drop the charges against him in favour of a probation-based solution.
According to a BBC report, Etchecopar is not allowed to interrupt his guests for 10 minutes and he cannot criticise them after they finish. Additionally, the report states that prosecutors will provide a list of gender specialists and Argentina’s special gender violence prosecutor will come up with the topics for discussion. He is not allowed to make discriminatory remarks for a year, and if he breaks these terms, the case against him will be resurrected.
