Narendra Modi Has No Shame Or Decency, Says Vajpayee’s Niece
BJP supremo Amit Shah has distributed the urns containing Vajpayee's ashes to different BJP state units.
Noting that former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s stature was beyond any political party, his niece Karuna Shukla has slammed the BJP for politicising his death. “Narendra Modi has been in power for four-and-a-half years at the centre, and Raman Singh has been in power in Chattisgarh for 15. In this time, they did not remember Vajpayee even once,” Shukla told CNN-IBN.
She added that Vajpayee had been the prime minister and a Bharat Ratna awardee, and no-one was stopping the BJP governments from launching schemes in his name in all this time.
After Vajpayee’s demise and ahead of the assembly elections, Chhattisgarh CM has announced that the name of the capital city Naya Raipur will be changed to Atal Nagar.
Not mincing any words, Shukla said, “I’m very well aware of their [BJP’s] tricks and strategies….. as far as Raman Singh’s BJP in Chhattisgarh is concerned, they are selfish and hungry for political power. They are using Atal ji’s name to cross the rubicon of 2018 elections. But the public understands their intentions.”
In a much politicised and over-the-top programme organised at the party headquarters in Delhi, BJP supremo Amit Shah has distributed the urns containing Vajpayee’s ashes to different BJP state units. All state units, accompanied by union ministers, have been ordered to carry out an “Asthi Kalash Yatra” – a procession to finally submerge his remains in holy rivers.

Shukla also added a message for the RSS-BJP, “I have been witnessing this from the start. Not only did the Sangh and the BJP used Vajpayee ji as much as they could while he was alive, even after his death, they aren’t letting go of using his name. They have no shame or decency, be it Narendra Modi ji, Raman Singh ji, or people in other states.”
