New India: 8-year-old Muslim Boy Lynched In Delhi’s Begumpur Area
Students and madrasa officials allege that the local youths have been creating disturbances, including throwing whiskey-bottles inside the madrasa.
Mohammad Azeem, an 8-year-old madrasa student, was lynched in Begumpur area of Delhi’s Malviya Nagar on Thursday. Azeem was rushed to a hospital, where doctors declared him brought dead.
According to reports, some students living in the madrasa’s hostel were playing outside when some youths of the locality assaulted them. Azeem was thrown at a bike and collapsed on the spot. Other madrasa students also suffered minor injuries.
Students and madrasa officials allege that the local youths have been creating disturbances. At times, empty whiskey bottles are thrown inside the madrasa-cum-mosque premises.
Police said the body has been sent for post-mortem and a case under appropriate sections of the Indian Penal Code has been registered. Four minor boys, who are suspected to have been involved in the incident, have been apprehended, police said.
