Social Media Lampoons PM Modi’s Evolution From Chowkidar to Salesman
The Prime Minister of India, with ‘Chowkidar’ in his name, was caught peddling T-shirts, keychains on Twitter.

The Indian Prime Minister’s personal twitter handle on Sunday tweeted out a link to a portal selling T-shirts and other ‘attractive’ merchandise.
In the tweet, the PM brought up his election rally that is slated to be held on 31st of March and surprisingly pivoted to the merchandise being sold with his name on them.
The #MainBhiChowkidar programme on the 31st will look even better with the attractive merchandise!

The linked website sells notebooks, keychains, clocks, books, pens, caps mugs and shirts related to the ruling party’s campaign.
The Twitter sphere was quick to joke about out how odd it was for the Prime Minister of a country to peddle shirts.
Only a matter time of time Modiji starts selling tickets for his election rally on bookmyshow… https://t.co/a1w5xWuQ8K

Satirist YouTuber Akash Banerjee grasped the chance to plug in his own merchandise in response to the PM’s new initiative:
Dear @narendramodi Ji,
Considering your stature – the @namomerchandise could be a lot better. Please show your team some of the #Deshbhakt tees that are selling like hot cakes.
We have #FactsAreNotFacts / #ApnaTimeAyega / #WhatsAppUniversity (coming soon) tees! pic.twitter.com/Tq4Fzz8x78— The DeshBhakt (@akashbanerjee) March 24, 2019
