We Are Headed For a 2004 Type Lok Sabha Result: Prashant Bhushan
The senior lawyer predicted that the BJP would lose more than 120 seats that it won in 2014.
Senior lawyer Prashant Bhushan said on Tuesday, April 30 the 2019 general election seems to be headed for a result on the lines of the 2004 election.
Referring to “India Shining” the Bharatiya Janata Party’s campaign slogan in 2004, Bhushan wrote that while many had predicted that the saffron party would win, the Congress and UPA’s sweeping victory had been surprising.
After 2/3 of India has voted, it seems clear that we are headed for a 2004 type result. Remember the 'India shining' campaign blitz. Most people thought that BJP would win, but results surprised. No 'Vikas' campaign this time, but Hindu/Muslim & Modi's 56". BJP to lose >120 seats

Bhushan said that there is no ‘Vikas’ (development) campaign by the BJP this year, as opposed to in 2014. He added that instead of development, the party only talks about “Hindu/Muslim & Modi’s 56 (inch)”.
According to Bhushan, BJP would lose over 120 seats that it won in 2014.
Most opinion polls, surveys and pundits were predicting a virtual walkover for then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee-led NDA, none could foresee that the ruling coalition, with the Kargil victory under its belt, would walk away with only 180+ seats. None of these surveys even hinted at the possibility that the UPA would emerge victorious with 218 seats and would go on to govern the country for 10 years.
