Revealed: Narendra Modi’s Link With Lalit Modi
Both the Modis are on the same page.
Narendra Modi may like people to believe that he and Lalit Modi are not on the same page, but it turns out that they are indeed on the same ‘page’—the Home Page, of the website of Lalit Modi’s latest venture—Ion Care.
In a video posted prominently on the website, PM Modi is seen visiting the ‘Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown’ on a guided tour. Ion Care and Champalimaud Foundation logos appear on Ion Care’s official website as well as in the video clearly indicate a business partnership.
The story, however, doesn’t end here.
On 24th June 2017, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a visit to this Champalimaud Centre.
Eight days later, on 1st July 2017, Ion Care PTE Ltd. became a functional company.
Lalit Modi’s Linkedin profile describes him as the Founder and Managing Trustee of Ion Care PTE LTD and Ion Care Foundation. Ion Care PTE LTD is registered as a company in Singapore and describes its principal business activity as ‘management consultancy services for healthcare organisations’.
The story doesn’t end here, either.
The press release on Narendra Modi’s website tells us “Champalimaud Foundation has a tie-up with the Prasad Institute in Hyderabad.”
One of the founders of the aforementioned Prasad Institute is a trust called the “Swarna Bharat Trust.”
What is the website of this Swarna Bharat Trust?
M Venkiah Naidu’s Personal website. (http://www.mvenkaiahnaidu.net/swarna-bharat-trust.php)
It is unclear whether there is any connection whatsoever with Narendra Modi’s visit to Champalimaud Centre and Lalit Modi’s company entering into a partnership with them.
Incidentally, after Lalit Modi’s visit to Lisbon, in 2014 Vasundhara Raje government had signed a MoU with the same Champalimaud Centre to open a centre in Rajasthan.
One thing is for sure—Lalit Modi feels abundantly comfortable displaying Prime Minister’s Modi’s visit to the organisation he has partnered with.
