Rs 10 Lakh Compensation Given to Family of Stone-pelter Who Died in Bulandshahr Violence by Yogi Adityanath Govt
Family of Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, also killed in the incident, given a compensation of Rs 50 lakh, along with a job in the state government.
The family of Sumit, the civilian killed in the violence that ensued on December 3 in Bulandshahr, is reportedly being offered a compensation of Rs 10 lakh by the Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh.
Sumit’s name was listed as accused number 16 in the FIR registered by the police. As per reports, Sumit (19) was a second-year student at a degree college in Lakhawati.
On December 3, violent protests broke out in Bulandshahr after carcasses of 25 cows were found in forests close to a police post. Right wing protestors took to the streets and blocked a road. When the police tried to intervene, they resorted to stone-pelting, which in turn led to the police opening fire. During the violence, vehicles were also vandalised and set on fire by the mob.
Police inspector Subodh Kumar Singh was killed in the violence. Singh’s family was given a compensation of Rs 50 lakh, along with a job in the state government. Meanwhile, Singh’s sister has alleged that he was murdered for probing the 2015 Mohammad Akhlaq lynching case in Dadri.
