Shame: BJP MP Nishikant Dubey Makes Homophobic Remarks In Relation To Rahul Gandhi’s Hug
377 might still be in, but homophobia is not.
Rahul Gandhi’s now-famous hug during his No-Confidence Motion speech in Parliament on July 20 is still eliciting reactions from Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders.
Two days ago, in an odd but characteristically threatening manner, UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had said that Rahul Gandhi “will think 10 times before hugging me”.
Today, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey said that BJP MPs are scared of Rahul Gandhi because if he hugs them, “our wives will divorce us” and that their wives would think that “our inclinations are of a different nature”.
He also said that the Supreme Court had not yet decided on Section 377, hence “what is the guarantee that Rahul Gandhi or other people won’t file a case”.
#WATCH: Yes we do fear hugging Rahul Gandhi as our wives might divorce us after that. Also, Section 377 hasn't been scrapped as yet. He added that once Rahul Gandhi gets married, BJP MPs will be ready to hug him. In Dubey’s world, a mere hug between two unmarried men is obviously a homosexual act.
Dubey’s homophobic remark has come after Rahul Gandhi had jokingly said at an event two days ago, “Now whenever I come across BJP MPs, they take two steps back ..”
After making communal and sexist remarks against their political opponents, BJP leaders are now making homophobic statements as well.
Political discourse in our country seems to be reaching new lows every day.
