Shameful: PM Modi Belittled Dignity Of Parliament. His Objectionable Remarks On Congress MP Are Expunged From Rajya Sabha Records.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi made improper remarks about Congress MP BK Harisprasad.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s improper remarks with reference to Congress MP BK Harisprasad were expunged from Rajya Sabha records on Friday. The remarks made by the prime minister are rarely expunged.
On August 9, during Rajya Sabha deputy chairperson election, Congress MP BK Harisprasad was defeated by National Democratic Alliance’s Harivansh Narayan Singh.
PM Modi congratulated Harivansh Singh on his victory and then made insulting comments on Congress MP Hariprasad.
According to a India Today report, PM Modi said the contest was between two men with “Hari” in their names. And then after a pause he added that “but one is BK (Hindi bikey meaning sold), the other is not”.
Later, responding to PM Modi’s statement, BK Hariprasad had said, “The prime minister belittled the dignity of the chair and brought down the dignity of the House.”
Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu had on Thursday said in the House that he will look into the remarks and see if there was something objectionable.
