He wrote: “Bajrang Dal, VHP now publishes a poster “wishing” people on Makar Sankranti with a picture of all those who are accused of instigating violence in Bulandshahr. Except, Praveen Bhati, a Bajrang Dal convenor, all others’ whose pics are here are in jail!”

The poster features one Yogesh Raj (bottom left) a Bajrang Dal member. Siasat Daily reported that Raj, the prime suspect in the murder of Police Inspector Subodh Kumar Singh was arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police on January 3. He was absconding after the incident.
On December 3, violent protests broke out in Bulandshahr after carcasses of 25 cows were found in forests close to a police post. Right-wing protestors took to the streets and blocked a road. When the police tried to intervene, they resorted to stone-pelting, which in turn led to the officials opening fire. During the violence, vehicles were also vandalised and set on fire by the mob.
An FIR against 27 named people and 50 to 60 unidentified people were registered at the Siyana Police Station for the violence. The police also lodged a separate FIR for cow slaughter on a complaint by Yogesh Raj.
