Subodh Murdered for Probing Akhlaq Case: Slain Bulandshahr Cop’s Sister Attacks Yogi Adityanath Govt
"The CM keeps shouting cow cow cow. Why doesn't he save cows himself. This is shameful,” she angrily told the media.
“Mere bhai ko police ne mil ke marwaaya hai (The police conspired to kill my brother),” proclaimed the sister of inspector Subodh Kumar Singh, who was shot dead as he reportedly tried to contain mob violence in Uttar Pradesh’s Bulandshahr.
Singh’s sister has alleged that he was murdered for probing the 2015 Mohammad Akhlaq lynching case in Dadri where an angry mob murdered Akhlaq based on rumours that his family consumed and stored beef in their home.

Singh’s sister has also demanded that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister come and visit the family. She said that her brother lost his life to “Gau Mata” and if the CM is so interested in Gau Raksha, he should do it himself.
“Mukhya mantri jee gau gau gau chillate firte hain. Khud aake gau raksha kyon nahi karte? Sharam ki baat hai (The CM keeps shouting cow cow cow. Why doesn’t he save cows himself. This is shameful),” she angrily told the media.
On December 3, violent protests broke out in Bulandshahr after carcasses of 25 cows were found in forests close to a police post. Right wing protestors took to the streets and blocked a road. When the police tried to intervene, they resorted to stone-pelting, which in turn led to the police opening fire. During the violence, vehicles were also vandalised and set on fire by the mob.
In the aftermath of the violence, a video that went viral on social media showed Singh lying dead in a car stranded in the middle of a field. While it was initially reported that Singh died after he was allegedly “injured by a blunt object” during the violence, the postmortem report confirmed that Singh died of bullet injuries. According to reports, the mob that allegedly killed him took away his service gun and mobile phone as well.
