Survey Predicts BJP Will Get Only 16 Out of 132 Seats in the South in Lok Sabha Polls
The poll suggests that in Tamil Nadu, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, NDA will not win a single seat.
There is more bad news for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). According to an opinion survey conducted by Times Now and VMR, out of a total of 132 seats in the south, the BJP is likely to win only 16 in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.
As per the survey, in Tamil Nadu (39 seats), the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) will win 35 seats, the AIADMK will get four. The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and Others, on the other hand, will not win a single seat in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
In Andhra Pradesh (25 seats), per the survey, “YSRCP will get 23 and TDP will win two seats,” whereas the UPA and the NDA won’t get any seats. In Telangana’s (17 seats), the TRS will win ten, the UPA will win ten, and the NDA and Others will get only one each.
In Telangana too, BJP is expected to not gain a single seat out of the 17. “The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is likely to grab 10 seats, Congress – 5, BJP+ – 1, Others – 1. In 2014, the TRS was the leading party with 12 seats while the Congress had won two. The BJP-led alliance could bag only one seat.” said the survey.
In Karnataka (28 seats), the UPA and the NDA will score 14 seats each, while as the BSP and Others won’t get any, according to the poll.
And finally, in Kerala (20 seats), the UDF will get 16, the LDF will get three and Others will get only one seat.
BJP is expected to retain its seats Andaman seat but is set to lose the lone seat in Puducherry. NCP is set to bag the one Lakshadweep seat.
The survey’s math only adds to the bad news for the BJP as other poll predictions too have not borne good news for the saffron party. Recently, poll analyst Partha Das of Chanakyya predicted that the UPA would win 295 seats. The NDA, as per his analysis will win 248 seats.
