Tax Payers Bear Rs. 2.88 Lakh For Andhra Pradesh Minister’s Root Canal Treatment Done In Singapore
Andhra Pradesh government’s general administration department (GAD) reimbursed Ramakrishnudu root canal treatment cost.
Andhra Pradesh’s finance and planning minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu in April this year, flew to Singapore to get a dental treatment done worth Rs. 2.88 lakh. This cost was later reimbursed with taxpayers’ money.
Ramakrishnudu had undergone the root canal treatment at Azure Dental in Singapore on April 22. The general administration department (GAD) issued a government order releasing the amount on August 23.
The order read, “In the letter 1st read above, P.S. to Minister of Finance has forwarded the medical bills of Sri Yanamala Ramakrishnudu, Hon. Minister of Finance & Planning, Commercial Taxes and Legislative Affairs, Government of Andhra Pradesh, and requested to reimburse an amount of Rs 2,88,823/- for Root Canal treatment of the Minister on 12.4.2018 at Azure Dental, 22 Sixth Avenue, Singapore.”
The order further stated, “In the letter 3rd read above, the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. NTR Vaidyaseva Trust, Gunytru, to whom the bills were sent for scrutiny, has stated that after scrutiny of bills an amount Rs 2,88,823/- (Rupees Two Lakh Eighty Eight Thousand Eight Hundred and Twenty Three only) sanctioned against the claim.”
