Why Are Ram Vilas Paswan’s Family Members Contesting on Reserved Seats When He Is Against Reservation Policy for Lower Castes?: Tejashwi Yadav

"Ram Vilas Paswan and Chirag Paswan not able to find other Dalits in Bihar besides their family members," he added.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday, March 24, slammed Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) chief Ram Vilas Paswan, underlining that his family members are contesting Lok Sabha Polls from reserved constituencies while he has voiced his opinion against the reservation policy.

In a tweet, Yadav said: “Ram Vilas Paswan and Chirag Paswan are against reservation and speak about abolishing the policy. However, their entire family is contesting from reserved seats. Whose fear is stopping them from contesting on unreserved seats? In 50 per cent of the seats in which the party is contesting, their family members are given tickets. They are not able to find other Dalits in Bihar.”

The LJP will contest in six seats in Bihar. Out of these six, Ram Vilas Paswan’s family members — brother Pashupati Kumar Paras and Ram Chandra Paswan will contest from Samastipur and Hajipur respectively, and son Chirag Paswan from Jamui — are fielded from three reserved constituencies. The LJP chief has reportedly been a vocal advocate of reservation for Upper Caste communities.
