The Times Now-VMR exit poll raised eyebrows on Sunday after it declared Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) will get 2.9% of the vote share in Uttarakhand, despite the party not fielding any candidate in the hill state in 2019 Lok Sabha elections. Similarly, the poll predicted BJP winning in Chandigarh despite having a lower vote share. 

Times now went on a tweet-deleting spree after the errors were pointed out. No explanation has been provided by the channel till the time of writing this article.

As the last of the seven phases of 2019 election marathon came to a close on Sunday 19 May, 2019, Times Now declared that AAP will garner 2.9% vote share in Uttarakhand, Congress will get 38.81% while BJP will claim 51.6% votes. Times Now deleted the tweet after people pointed out the discrepancy. 

However, per the list of candidates in Uttarakhand there is no mention of AAP fielding any candidate in the state.

Similarly, Time Now predicted that the BJP would win the Chandigarh seat despite the Congress getting more votes in the state. Chandigarh only has one seat,

Exit polls have had a dubious track record as they involve guesswork and the pollsters usually gravitate towards the prevalent trends to err on the safe side.

The results for 2019 Lok Sabha elections will be declared on Thursday, May 23, 2019.
