Tribals Scammed By BJP Government, Promised Money For Constructing Toilets, Not Paid, Now Being Told Money Has Been Paid
To make things worse, it has been written on the walls of these toilets that Rs 12,000 each has been paid to them.
The Baiga tribe in Madhya Pradesh has constructed toilets using their own money under the Swachh Bharat Abhiyan but they haven’t been paid for it.
Toilets were to be constructed in the state’s Anuppur village and people involved in its construction were to be given Rs 12,000 each by the government. To claim this amount, they had to send a picture of the constructed toilet as a proof. Individuals belonging to the Baiga tribe used their own money and constructed the toilets but have not been paid, GoNews reported.
Although government officials have taken their pictures along with the constructed toilets, villagers wait for their payments. To make things worse, even on the walls of these toilets, it has been written that the said amount has been paid to them.
When asked whether the villagers were paid the money after the construction of toilets, a government official said the matter will be probed.
Baiga tribe is considered one of the most backward communities in India.
