Uttar Pradesh: Bajrang Dal Men Force Muslim Kids to Chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’, Beat Them Up
Per reports, the assailants hit the children with a cricket bat and hurled stones at them.
A group of four men, allegedly affiliated with the extreme right-wing outfit Bajrang Dal, beat up Muslim children in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao, after forcing them to say “Jai Shri Ram” on Thursday, July 11.
Per a report in The Quint, the children, students at a madrassa near the Jama Masjid, were thrashed after they refused to chant the slogan. The police have registered a case and three accused have been identified. On their social media profiles, the men reportedly claim to be a part of the Bajrang Dal. News18 reported that one of the accused has been arrested.
“Today, when the children from the madrassa were there (at the ground), they got involved in a fight. A case has been filed. The medical examination of children who were injured has been done. Action is being taken.”
“We have given all the details of the accused to the police. According to their social media profiles, they are associated with a right wing group. The Madrasa students were beaten up when they failed to chant ‘Jai Shri Ram’ slogans, also their clothes were torn and their bicycles were vandalised. Now it is up to the administration what action they take against the culprits,” said the Imam of the Jama Masjid, reported News18.

There was a brawl today at the GIC ground while the students were playing cricket and a case was registered as per the complaint filed by them. Three students were injured and action is being taken in this case,” Circle Officer Umesh Tyagi confirmed to the press.
