Uttar Pradesh: Govt School Headmaster Suspended For Anti-Modi Post on WhatsApp
He had reportedly shared a video on May 26.
A government school headmaster in Sambhal, Uttar Pradesh has reportedly been suspended for sharing a post critical of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Raghuveer Singh, the headmaster of an upper primary school in Shahpur Chamran, Bareilly had shared a video, on a WhatsApp group of teachers and other education officials, which showed the 2019 Lok Sabha election process to be dubious in addition to making ‘derogatory’ comments against PM Modi, reported Times of India.
Some of the teachers on the said WhatsApp group complained to their senior following which the Basic Shiksha Adhikari (BSA) initiated an internal probe against Singh. The inquiry committee found him guilty of violating service rules as well as the Model Code of Conduct and ordered his suspension, the report added.
BSA Virendra Pratap Singh told TOI, “During investigation, the matter was found to be true following which he was suspended. Senior officials have also been informed about the matter. Singh will remain attached with the same school where he has been posted since we have shortage of staff and sending him somewhere else is not possible. We cannot lock the school as he is the only teacher there.”
