Jobs Scam: Agra BJP MLA’s Nephew Among Five Arrested For Cheating Unemployed Youth
Police have seized Rs 47,000 and a car that had an 'Uttar Pradesh government' label.
Uttar Police have arrested five youth in Mathura in connection with a job racket scam.
Prabhat Khabar reported that the mastermind of the racket is the nephew of Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) Agra legislator Hemlata Diwakar. The five youth — from Agra, Delhi and Kanpur — have cheated people by promising them Railway jobs. The Uttar Pradesh Police have seized documents, including degree certificates of unemployed youths, Rs 47,000 cash along with a Swift Dzire that had an ‘Uttar Pradesh government’ label.
When the matter came to light, the BJP MLA put the entire blame on a person named Himanshu and claimed that his nephew Amit Kumar was innocent and ran an ordinary coaching class.
As per the report, the MLA said that Himanshu told Amit that he would get jobs for the students studying at the later’s coaching class. Senior police officer Satyarthi Anirudh Pankaj told Prabhat Khabar, “Based on the information, we have arrested five youth from Kotwali sector. We have seized Rs 47,000 and documents from them.”
He added, “Among the arrested, there is a youth named Amit Kumar who runs a coaching centre. He is the nephew of Agra (Gramin) Vidhayak Hemlata Diwakar. The other four accused are— Sikander from Delhi, Gautam and Shakeel from Agra and Ramkumar from Kanpur Nagar.”
