Would Rahul Gandhi Beat Narendra Modi In A Debate? Here’s What Over 50k People Think
Vivek Agnihotri had conducted a Twitter poll, and the results may affirm his belief that facts are not facts.
With the upcoming Lok Sabha polls, it is difficult to tell, but on social media, Congress president Rahul Gandhi is definitely winning the popularity contest.
In a Twitter poll conducted by self-styled Right-wing ideologue — and the man who claims to have “invented” the word “Urban Naxals” — Vivek Agnihotri tried to inquire, who would win in a debate: Prime Minister Narendra Modi or Rahul Gandhi.
Agnihotri asked, “If there is a debate between Narendra Modi and Rahul Gandhi, how many marks will Rahul get?” The poll featured four options: 100, 70, 33 and zero. Of the 90,000-odd people who participated in the survey, 56 per cent voted 100. Roughly, 50,000 people on Twitter feel that Rahul Gandhi would score all the points in the hypothetical debate.
Social media used to be the Bharatiya Janata Party’s big gun. In the last four-and-a-half years of the BJP reign, the PM’s popularity on Facebook and Twitter have dipped while Gandhi’s has increased exponentially. Only time will tell if this metric translates into votes.
