Yogi Cabinet Minister Says Mayawati Was Better Than Yogi
The BJP minister also said that the officials in the Yogi government do not follow the orders of the State government.
In a development which will be seen as yet another sign of swinging political fortunes, Swamy Prasad Maurya, a cabinet minister in the Yogi Adityanath government expressed praise for former UP CM Mayawati.
In an interview with News18Hindi, he said that during Mayawati’s regime, the Executive used to do disciplinary work, and Mayawati kept a ‘close watch’ on the work. The BJP minister also said that the officials in the Yogi government do not follow the orders of the State government.
Maurya had joined BJP in 2017, before that he was working with BSP.
Recently, U.P. Chief Minister Adityanath has faced a lot of flak for rising crime. In the recent Unnao rape case, a BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Senar is the main accused along with three others. Another rape like the one in Kathua where an eight-year-old girl was gang-raped for six days, was reported in Etah on Monday where a seven-year-old was raped and murdered during a wedding ceremony.
Adityanath has also been criticised for trying to protect Sengar. The law and order situation in Uttar Pradesh is rapidly deteriorating every day.
On Monday, a tape recording between a police officer and a gangster came to light. In the tape, the cop is heard threatening the gangster and asking him to speak to BJP MLAs to avoid an encounter.
