Zee Spreads Fake News: Chandra Shekhar Azad Points Out He Said Run India, Not Burn India
Despite Azad's clarification, Zee News has neither taken down the report nor has it offered any explanation.
Zee News, an organisation that has been caught pushing fake news several times, was found guilty of that once again.
On February 2, Zee reported that Chandra Shekhar Azad, the Bhim Army chief, speaking at a rally in Muzaffarnagar, said: “Agar hum Bharat band karana jaante hain, toh jalana bhi jaante hain (If we know how to shut down India, we know how to burn it as well).”
Zee News presented this as a controversial statement. The truth, however, according to Azad, is completely different.
Taking to Twitter, Azad said, “Maine Bharat chalana bola tha, aur ye Bhajpa ka dalal channel jalana chala raha hai. Kya aise Dalit virodhi Manuvadi channel ka bahishkar nahi hona chahiye? (I said running and this BJP agent channel runs it as burning. Should this anti-Dalit, Bharmanical channel not be boycotted?)”
